Here we are at the final MCW event of the year and when you look back at 2026, there are some names who stand out as having a year to remember. But perhaps the name with the biggest claim isn’t one you would have predicted back in January.
Yes, 2026 might have been the year of The Clydesdale.
Not only did he shock the entire country at Ballroom Brawl by winning the Intercommonwealth Championship from long-time champ Adam Brooks, with Lucky O’Leary he did the same thing next time round at Clash of the Titans by taking the MCW Tag Team Championship from the reigning (and record-holding) Water Rapids.

So here we are at End Game, and The ‘Dale is ambitiously trying to knock off a trifecta of foes in one hit.
First up, the former champs – the Water Rapids. Yes, they may no longer have the belts, but Mitch Waterman and Ryan Rapid are still the benchmark for tag team wrestling, not just in MCW, but Australasian Wrestling as a whole. They could show that their loss really was a fluke.
Next up, a team that are very familiar with The Clydesdale – The Physicals.
Johnny Jetts and Jimmy Castle are hugely popular with the MCW faithful, and they could take that support up a notch if they emerge the winners here.
And then there’s a wildcard – the acclaimed Sydney team North Shore Wrestling, making their return to MCW. Their previous showing may not have won them much support among the crowd, but Sam Osborne and Will Kiedis certainly won some begrudging respect at Ballroom Brawl.
Of course, we shouldn’t dismiss the champs’ chances.
Like them or not, Lucky and Clyde showed some real ring smarts in their title win, with O’Leary in particular proving he’d done his homework. And with the chaos of an elimination match, anything could happen.
Sure, Lucky and Clyde have been the recipients of some good fortune recently, but with this match, are they riding their luck too hard? Or maybe, if they pull this off, they have one final shock in store for 2026!
Don’t miss MCW’s final event of the year on Saturday 7th November at the Thornbury Theatre.
