Since forming in 2010, Melbourne City Wrestling has grown to become the premiere brand of sports entertainment in Australia. With regular sell-out events, a strong online following both locally and internationally and the MCW Academy – MCW’s own dedicated training facility, MCW sets the benchmark for live independent pro-wrestling in Australasia.
MCW’s roster includes a mixture of both the best talent from around Victoria and top quality professional wrestlers from around Australia, many of whom have had international experience. Furthermore, MCW has seen some of the world’s best international talent compete in the MCW ring, including IWGP Heavyweight champions Kazuchika Okada and Tetsuya Naito, and IWGP Junior Heavyweight champion Will Ospreay.
Notable MCW alumni include former MCW Champions Matt Silva (now ‘Buddy Murphy’ in WWE), Elliot Sexton (now ‘Brendan Vink’ in WWE), Slex (now performing in Ring of Honor) and Jonah Rock (now ‘Bronson Reed’ in WWE), along with KC Cassidy (now ‘Peyton Royce’ in WWE), Evie (now ‘Dakota Kai’ in WWE) and more.
