In only a handful of MCW appearances, Jame Tagataese has quickly become one of the biggest threats in the MCW locker room, and no-one has felt the brunt of that quite like Jarvis has.
At Ballroom Brawl, Rocky Menero offered a cash bounty on Jarvis’ head, and Tagataese was happy to do the job and claim the money. Only, while he certainly made his presence felt, he wasn’t able to take Jarvis out of the Ballroom Brawl match. And when Jarvis eliminated both Mitch Waterman and Mitch Ryder to win, Rocky was livid.
Fast forward to Clash of the Titans, and once again Jarvis was in Tagataese’s sights, as Tagataese wanted to claim Rocky’s money.
And this match was an eye-opener – no matter what Jarvis threw at Tagataese, the Big Man kept on coming. Methodical, relentless and supremely powerful, in the end Jarvis had to resort to a ruthless chair shot on Tagataese. Jarvis may not have won the match, but at least he escaped the battle.
But now, the war continues. And the stakes are even higher for both men.
Because at End Game, Jarvis vs Tagataese 2 will be a No Holds Barred match, introducing a new level of possible violence.
For Jarvis – he has to defeat the beast that is Tagataese, and not just for his own personal safety. Jarvis knows that thanks to his Ballroom Brawl win, he’s got a shot at the MCW World Championship coming up, and if he’s going to have his best chance to win, he needs momentum on his side.
A loss here could sink his chances of being champion before they even start – both from a physical standpoint and a mental one.
For Tagataese – this might be his last chance to claim Rocky’s bounty. There’s no guarantee that Robbie Thorpe will still be MCW World Champion by the end of the End Game main event, and if he loses the belt, Rocky’s wallet will suddenly snap shut.
But there’s also a bigger issue at play – if Tagataese can decisively beat a true championship contender in Jarvis, than presumably the MCW management can’t ignore Jamie’s momentum, and suddenly he could be in championship contention. And that’s a scenario that Rocky and Robbie may not have factored into their plans.
No matter what angle you look at this from, this is a match that is going to have championship ramifications.
Add the fact that this could be a truly brutal encounter, and all signs point to something special in store at End Game.
Don’t miss MCW’s final event of the year on Saturday 7th November at the Thornbury Theatre.
