Can the student school the teacher?
Many were confused when Mick Moretti formed Shadow Alley, after all Moretti has never come across as the altruistic type. Instead, he’s always been someone who knows how to exploit any situation to his own ends, and to be fair, it’s made him one of the most successful wrestlers in the country.
But to many the question of whether he formed Shadow Alley to truly become a teacher, or just give him the numbers advantage whenever he needed remains unanswered. Perhaps that’s just the way the always unfathomable Moretti likes it.
One person who thinks he knows the answer is the former Crackle in Shadow Alley – Ryan Rapid.
Many had pegged Rapid as a talent to keep an eye on, so when he joined Shadow Alley he thought he’d received attention from someone who could be a true mentor for him, and give him those last missing pieces he needed to become a breakout star.
But he soon found that he was just doing Moretti’s bidding, and that eventually became too much to bear. At High Stakes, he turned his back on Shadow Alley for good, and quickly found out what happens when you turn against Moretti.
So now the student must face the teacher and show him that he’s learned a lesson that no-one should forget – trust Moretti at your own risk.
There’s some real bad blood running throughout this battle, and while Rapid has now reclaimed his name, he’s wanting to claim so much more from Moretti.
We can’t wait to see if he can do it.
