It would be fair to say that 2026 didn’t start the way that Lucky O’Leary intended; following his loss alongside Tony Villani at the hands of the Water Rapids, it was O’Leary who copped the punishment – being kicked out of the ICON$
So now O’Leary is out on his own, but if you think he’s feeling sorry for himself, then maybe think again.
It seems that O’Leary sees this as a necessary next step in his ongoing evolution as a professional wrestler, and he promises that he’s more dangerous than ever before.
And that might spell bad news for the entire MCW locker room – possibly even for the ICON$.
After all, he’s had the benefit of being part of the ICON$ for quite some time – the knowledge, the training, the strategic thinking. But now he’s his own man, with no-one to answer to – that certainly makes him more of a threat.
But someone else who’s been his own man for a lot longer is Edward Dusk.
Now that he’s seemingly put Matt Hayter behind him, he’s looking to get back on his quest to claim the World Heavyweight Championship, and that means getting back to the position of being the #1 contender.
The first step in that quest – defeating Lucky O’Leary.
It’s been almost two years since they last faced each other one-on-one in an MCW ring – that time at High Stakes 2024, it was Dusk who emerged the victor. But we think this rematch might be a little harder to predict.
Both have progressed since that match, and both are a lot more confident in their own abilities and understand their own strengths a lot better than they did back then, which certainly makes this a very intriguing match.
The one thing we’ll say is that whoever wins this, is going to have real momentum behind them as we go further into 2026 – expect this to be a very hard fought match.
We can’t wait to see it!
