In recent months Caveman Ugg and Ricky South have seemingly been on a collision course.
Back in October, at Fight to Survive they faced each other as part of their respective teams in the 5 on 5 elimination match.
In December, South shocked the MCW faithful when he cashed in his Ballroom Brawl opportunity to win the MCW World Championship, spoiling Caveman Ugg’s night of glory, and bringing his title reign to a close mere minutes after Ugg claimed the championship in the process.

At Anniversary, Ugg had his chance to reclaim the championship in the 3-way match against South and Edward Dusk, but the influence of the ICON$ saw South the victor.
But this is a rivalry that goes back a lot longer than just the last few months, and even beyond the confines of MCW itself.
Over in PWA in Sydney, it was South who ended Ugg’s long 3-year reign as the PWA World Champion. In fact, over the last 8 years, South and Ugg have faced off in singles competition only twice before, and the record stands at 1-1.
At High Stakes, not only do we see the two giants of pro-wrestling compete for the biggest prize in the country, but we will see one man be able to definitely declare himself the better man.
And it’s a match that, as their previous record suggests, is incredibly hard to call. Both are pretty evenly matched in terms of size, strength and experience, so this may come down to the intangibles – hunger, resilience, heart.
Will this be a match that solidifies South’s reign as champion, or it will be one that delivers justice back to Ugg?
We can’t wait to find out.
