We’ve said it before, but there’s a real youth movement happening in MCW right now. The next generation of wrestlers are coming up through the ranks, and making themselves known.
One tag team that really exemplifies this rise is The Physicals. Jimmy Castle and Johnny Jetts.
We’ve seen them go from getting opportunities in the Relentless pre-show match, through to being part of the #1 Contender Battle Royal at End Game, through to earning their spot in the Tag Team Championship #1 Contender Tournament.
There’s a lot of upside to them as well – fast, energetic and with a huge amount of heart, it’s no surprise that they’ve quickly become a favourite with the MCW faithful. And while they may not have a huge amount of experience behind them, they certainly have the talent to match it against any team. But here’s the problem – their opponents aren’t just any team.
After their victory at Anniversary, The Physicals now take on Carlo & Zhan at High Stakes!
The team of Carlo Cannon and Zhan Wen is an exhilarating blend of experience and raw power, and they’re putting everyone on notice.
They’re using this tournament to really stake a claim in MCW, and they have one team firmly in their sights – the current MCW Tag Team Champions The Parea.
But while they consider everyone else in the tournament mere stepping stones to getting what they want, they should be careful not to overlook a team like The Physicals.
On paper Carlo and Zhan are the favourites – Carlo is a former MCW World Heavyweight Champion after all – but you can never discount the underdogs.
This really does make for an intriguing match-up, and we can’t wait to see who will face Mitch Waterman and Ryan Rapid in the final.
This is proving to be one hell of a tournament!
High Stakes is live from the Thornbury Theatre on Saturday 17th May.
