Over the past few months, we’ve seen the Water Rapids – Mitch Waterman and Ryan Rapid – put their MCW Tag Team Championship up in a series of matches against the very best Australia has to offer.
Following wins against The Natural Classics, ICON$, The Dropouts, and most recently Blacklisted and Strong 94, a new team has emerged from the west to put themselves against Mitch and Ryan.
Julian Ward and Kaz Jordan – Australian Takeover aka ATO – have built a big reputation over in Perth, and they’re no strangers to holding championships. In fact, they’re the current EPW and STW tag champs, so they’re coming into MCW to add to their belt collection.
Moreover, they’re not here to gain respect, they believe that they’ve already earned the respect, and it’s up to the rest of the wrestling world to give it to them.
They’ve wrestled internationally, they’ve faced up to some huge teams in their own right, and while this is first appearance in Victoria, they’re here to make sure it won’t be their last; and what better way to guarantee that than by taking the MCW belts home with them?
But as good as they are – and they are damn good – are they able to get the win over the Water Rapids?
We know that Mitch and Ryan will be the crowd favourites, and with a packed Thornbury Theatre right behind them, that could be a game changer.
Plus, let’s not forget that with every match, Ryan and Mitch look more and more dangerous. Let’s hope the ATO know what they’re getting into.
