History was made at Anniversary when Adam Brooks defeated Robbie Thorpe for the Intercommonwealth Championship, becoming the first ever 5-time champion in the process.
And in his post-match comments he made his intentions clear – he wants to return the prestige to the championship by putting on the best matches possible.
As everyone knows, if there’s one person who you’d bet on to achieve that goal, it’s Brooksy. The Loose Ledge has built up a deserved reputation for in-ring excellence across the country, and this new championship gives him a new chance to increase that reputation even further.
But as Brooks well knows, when you’re the champion, suddenly everyone’s gunning for you.
Back at End Game in December, we saw a frenetic battle royal to determine the #1 Contender for the Intercommonwealth Championship, and to cap off a huge 2024 for him, Ryan Rapid outlasted everyone to earn his shot at the title.
Ryan Rapid became #1 contender to the Intercommonwealth Championship at End Game!
Now at High Stakes, the stakes really haven’t been any higher for Rapid, as he takes his opportunity to win MCW gold for the first time.
And if there’s anyone who can match Brooksy in the ring, it’s Rapid – he’s one of the hottest new prospects in Melbourne City Wrestling.
The two have never met in the ring before, and we have a feeling that it’s going to be nothing short of spectacular. The experience and brilliance of Brooks vs the hunger and energy of Rapid.
We. Can’t. Wait.
High Stakes is live from the Thornbury Theatre on Saturday 17th May.
