End Game 2024 – Intercommonwealth Championship

Since he won the Intercommonwealth Championship by defeating DELTA at Ballroom Brawl, Robbie Thorpe has been on a roll. He came up a winner in a four-way match at Vendetta, and he defeated Lucas Fantasia at Fight to Survive.

But if we’re being critical, there are still two big questions about Thorpe. Firstly, can he win against truly elite competition? Secondly, can he win without the ICON$ help?

Robbie has faced elite competition before but he did it with no small amount of help. And that’s been a running theme of his reign – he gets the help of the ICON$ (or more accurately, the increasingly begrudging help of ICON$ associate Jarvis), and he stays champ.

So how will he fare when there’s potentially no help from Jarvis, and he’s got not one, but two incredibly dangerous opponents facing him?

Enter Mitch Waterman and Tommy Knight.

Both have held championships in MCW. Both are at their absolute peak right now, and even one-on-one, either would be a handful for Robbie to handle.

But together, that’s a tough challenge for anyone.

And both men have momentum behind them: Tommy has had an incredible couple of years, as he’s become possibly the best big man in the country, while Mitch has just come off a fantastic series of matches against Ryan Rapid. Now both men have their eyes on gold once more.

And with Jarvis seemingly indisposed at End Game with his own match, can Robbie find a way to win that doesn’t rely on the ICON$?

There’s no denying Robbie’s talent, but there’s also no denying the talent and greater experience of both Mitch and Tommy.

All told, this is an Intercommonwealth Championship match that is incredibly hard to call. Which is just the way we like it.

The biggest event of the year – MCW End Game – will be at the Melbourne Pavilion on Sunday 8th December.
