At Ballroom Brawl, Erika Reid finally put a stop to the problem that was Caity Luxe, but Caity took more from her than just blood and sweat – let’s not forget that it was because of Caity that Erika lost the MCW Women’s Championship to Shay Kassidy.
Now Erika is on the comeback trail, to try to become the Women’s Champion for a record third time.
But before she can face Shay in the ring, she has to show the world that she’s ready, and that means taking on all opponents, regardless of who they are, or where they’re from.
Enter Alissa Webb, one of a new breed of Luchadoras making an impact across South America, including her native Peru.
The ten-year veteran brings a Lucha Libre style we haven’t often seen in MCW before, especially not in the women’s division, and she presents a unique challenge for Erika to try to overcome.
How will Erika cope with an opponent that isn’t afraid to take to the air to deliver her attacks?
Erika will have to keep her eyes open in all directions in this match. Plus Alissa isn’t afraid to do whatever it takes to win, even if that means bending a few rules on the way, further adding to the danger.
However, we know that Erika won’t back away from any challenge, and Alissa might be surprised at not just the resilient strength that Erika has, but also the strength of Erika’s support from the MCW faithful.
There’s no doubt that Alissa will be entering a hostile environment when she steps into the MCW ring.
This really does make for a fascinating match-up: the beloved fighter on the path to becoming a champion once more, vs a new and largely unknown threat who has the chance to make an immediate impact on her MCW debut.
